MILLEDGEVILLE - Larry Latham, Ph.D., has been appointed to lead Central State Hospital (CSH) in Milledgeville beginning June 2nd, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) announced today. Dr. Latham has over forty years experience working with people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, and has hands-on experience running hospitals. Most recently he was Assistant Commissioner for Facility Services in the Tennessee Division of Mental Retardation Services. He has also taught and conducted research at the university level and is a Fellow of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

“We’re very lucky to get someone of Dr. Latham’s experience to lead the excellent staff at Central State,” said Greg Hoyt, DBHDD Director of Hospital Operations and Acting Hospital Administrator at CSH since March. “He’ll help us keep improving both the safety and the effectiveness of the services we provide.”
