Welcome to the Georgia Access Point - where you'll find information and resources to assist you in supporting people who are dually diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. These special individuals have unique and complex needs including:
- more intensive support and supervision
- caregivers with increased levels of skill and experience
- healthcare professionals with specialized clinical expertise
- more active service coordination and follow-up
- when living outside of the family home, community living arrangements that serve fewer people 1
As a result, family members, caregivers, community providers, and healthcare professionals must develop advanced knowledge and skills in order to provide the highest quality care and supports.
