Beacon Health Options begins serving Georgia
BOSTON – July 1, 2015 – Beacon Health Options (Beacon) announced today that it began serving individuals who qualify for Georgia’s Medicaid and state-funded behavioral health benefits.
Beacon provides administrative services in support of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). The company partners with the Delmarva Foundation to support the intellectual developmental disabilities work of the contract and with Behavioral Health Link to help operate crisis and access hotlines.
The administrative services organization (ASO) is known as the Georgia Collaborative ASO. For more information about the collaborative, please visit www.georgiacollaborative.com.
“DBHDD has helped countless citizens across the state of Georgia live a life of recovery, resiliency and independence,” said Jason Bearden, CEO of the Georgia Collaborative ASO and Vice President, National Client Partnerships – Georgia for Beacon Health Options. “Today’s launch of the Collaborative is the result of months of planning, preparation and working with advocacy organizations, providers and individuals, themselves, to ensure that we meet the behavioral health needs of the individuals served. It is gratifying to know that we can help the State of Georgia ensure that high-quality supports and services are easily accessible to all those who need them.”
“The Georgia Collaborative ASO is key piece of our ongoing effort to transform Georgia’s behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disability system,” added DBHDD Commissioner Frank Berry. “Our partnership with Beacon Health Options will help us create an easily accessible system of high-quality care that can serve as a model for other states.”
