Red Ribbon is a year-round awareness campaign focusing on safe activities as alternatives to drinking and using other drugs. Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign celebrated annually throughout the nation each year from October 23-31 to promote drug-free lifestyles among youth and adults alike. As part of the national campaign, the Office of Behavioral Health Prevention and Federal Grants, coordinator of the Governor's Red Ribbon Campaign, sponsors a statewide Red Ribbon Kick-Off Event, soliciting participation from schools, businesses, and community-based organizations around Georgia.
