ADVANCED HRST TRAINING FOR RATERS: This live HRST rater training is updated at least annually. It is specifically intended for HRST Raters. The primary focus and goal of this training are to enhance the rater’s screening accuracy. This training builds on the information learned in the HRST Online Rater Training through case studies and interactive group activities. It is HIGHLY recommended that all raters attend this training to increase their screening accuracy.

The same one-day training is offered on two days to allow more opportunities for HRST raters to attend and to allow provider managers more flexibility and options to send more staff. Raters need only attend either Day 1 OR Day 2, NOT both. These sessions will be conducted in multiple locations throughout the state. Please click on the "HRST FY20 Schedule" tab located under the summary page of this announcement to view the upcoming training locations.

NOTE: Though it is not required, it is highly recommended that registered nurses who plan to attend Day 3, HRST Training for Provider & DBHDD Nurses, attend either Day 1 OR Day 2 of this HRST rater training. This training will help nurses better understand how to screen accurately, which will enhance their ability to complete accurate Clinical Reviews of the HRST, which comprises the training presented on Day 3.

HRST TRAINING FOR RNs: This live HRST training has been specifically designed for nurses (RNs only) wishing to be trained in the quality assurance process known as the HRST Clinical Review. The primary focus and goal of this training are to educate RNs on how to complete an HRST Clinical Review. This review process is very important to ensure that screenings are completed by raters as accurately as possible. As a result of this process, the nurse has a better appreciation of the person’s risk and how to support non-clinical staff in addressing identified health risks.

NOTE: Though not required, it is highly recommended that RNs who plan to attend Day 3, HRST Training for Provider & DBHDD Nurses, also attend either Day 1 OR Day 2 (not both) of the HRST Rater training. This training will help RNs better understand how to screen accurately, which will enhance their ability to complete accurate Clinical Reviews of the HRST.

IMPORTANT: Any nurse employed by Support Coordination agencies are not required to attend this training as they are not responsible for completing the HRST Clinical Review. Nurses employed by Support Coordination agencies should register and attend the Live HRST training for Support Coordinators, State Service Coordinators, and Intensive Support Coordinators.
