She manages an extensive budget, and she develops the strategic plan for all community behavioral health programs, policies, behavioral health practices, programs, and workforce. Prior to joining DBHDD in 2010, Monica worked in community behavioral health in a variety of clinical, management, and leadership roles. Additionally, she has provided mental health and substance abuse clinical consultation on many projects locally and nationally. Monica is an alumnus of the Georgetown University Leadership Academy and a recipient of the Intensive Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Schizophrenia Certification from the Aaron T. Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Philadelphia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kennesaw State University and a master’s degree in professional counseling/psychology at Argosy University.
