Plan to participate in the Governor's Red Ribbon Campaign

We are pleased to announce the statewide Red Ribbon Campaign kick-off will be held on Friday, October 18 at the Omni Hotel at 100 CNN Center in Atlanta. Mark your calendar and plan to attend!  Youth will once again showcase their artistic talents, and an expanded visual arts walk demonstrating that real life is drug free will once again be featured.  The Red Ribbon mascot, Big Red, Freddie the Atlanta Falcon, and other notable Georgia mascots will be there to interact with the audience.

Schools and organizations are invited to participate in the talent showcase or simply to come and be an integral part of this festive Georgia tradition. You will receive more detailed logistical information after we receive your reservation form.

  • Winning posters will be featured in the Governor's Red Ribbon Campaign Planning & Resource Guide, which is distributed to schools and organizations all over Georgia.  Should you wish to be part of the poster contest you must send us a standard poster focusing on the theme of substance abuse prevention and awareness, and it must be received no later than close of business Monday, October 7.  This deadline is necessary so that the posters can be judged by the statewide Red Ribbon committee and winners be published in the Governor's Guide.
  • You may choose to participate in the poster contest, the art walk or both. If you opt only to display at the art walk, simply bring your poster to Centennial Park prior to 10:00 am on the day of the Red Ribbon Campaign kickoff.

NOTE: We hope your school or organization will participate in the art walk and/or the talent exhibition.  Due to the anticipated number of schools participating in the celebration of talents, including singing, dancing, reading poetry, or stepping, we must limit each group's time on the stage to seven (7) minutes.
